Diabetes

Glucose comes from consumed food and is used to provide energy to the body's cells. Diabetes may not cause any symptoms at first but may eventually cause symptoms such as frequent urination, extreme thirst, extreme hunger, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, irritability and blurry vision.

Diabetes can be considered through routine blood testing where the fasting glucose measures greater than 140. An A1C blood test is a better indicator of diabetes and is more accurately used to diagnose diabetes and to monitor patients with known prediabetes and diabetes.
